Prof. Dr. M. Turgay Ergun did his BA degree at Ankara University, Department of Political Sciences; MPA and Ph.D. degrees at New York University. He became an Associate Professor in 1980 and a Professor in 1988. He worked for the Ministries of Interior, National Education and Finance. He worked as a Fulbright Visiting Professor at the University of Tennessee, the USA between 1989 and 1990. He was the General Director and the Head of the Executive Board of the Public Administration Institute for Turkey & the Middle East (TODAŻE) between 1996 and 2008.
Prof. Dr. M. Turgay Ergun was in the Science Committee of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS) whose registered center is in Brussels and has still been a member o the Executive Committee of IIAS. He was the president of the International Association of School and Institutes of Administration (IASIA-Brussels) and has still been a member of the Executive Committee of IASIA.
Prof. Dr. Turgay ERGUN has supervised numerous research projects, MA and Ph.D. theses and has many publications both in English and Turkish. He has still been working as the Rector of European University of Lefke.
