Experience

·         Visiting Researcher at CCSR, University of Surrey(1998-1999)

·         Contributed to a multiparty video conferencing project. The goal of the project was to investigate multiparty video communications over mobile-packet networks using the H.323 standard. The research undertaken resulted in frame size and output quality adaptations based on certain requirements, number of participants in the session and available throughput. This was achieved by merging multiple MPEG-4 video streams into a single scene

·         Performed studies on automatic segmentation of a video scene into objects and background

·         Supervised 3 MSc student and 2 PhD students, CCSR-University of Surrey

·         Presentations given in a number of group meetings and conferences.

·         Attended several seminars on cutting-edge research projects

·         Experience with MPEG-4 video codec system, and G.723.1, G.729b, and AMR (Adaptive Multi-Rate) speech coders

·         Achieved 3 high-honour and 3 honour certificate in undergraduate degree at Eastern Mediterranean University,
