History

The European University of Lefke is a non-profit university founded in 1990 by the Cyprus Science Foundation. The “philosophy” of the EUL is “science and education are universal in our age,” thus the EUL provides a broad range of contemporary education and is committed to maintaining international standards of excellence with all degree programmes accredited and recognized by the higher education authorities around the world.

EUL is an international university with a population of about 4000 students from 35 different countries and has distinguished and experienced academic staff from around the world. The medium of instruction is English. EUL offers 6 Associate, 28 Undergraduate and 10 Postgraduate programmes.

The main goal of the EUL is to be a top quality university according to European and international standards. The primary mission of the EUL is to have a young generation equipped to become competent, self-confident, contemporary, creative and independent individuals who are able to cope with all the challenges of the global world, thus contributing to the development of the region and international community.

The world wide recognition of the European University of Lefke is obtained by the accreditation of the Higher Education Council of the Republic of Turkey (YÖK). Within this framework of YÖK accreditation, the EUL students have transfer opportunities to other international universities all over the world. The European University of Lefke is one of the best lowest tuition opportunities for international students.

EUL has also signed agreements and memorandums of “understanding” with some of UK, USA, Russian, Chinese, and Turkish universities. Besides international partnership with other universities, the University has also become member of the worldwide prestigious associations in the higher education sector.
