Residence Permit

All international students are required to complete their Resident Permit procedures upon arrival. The International Student affairs Department will assist students during this procedure. Students will be required to take a medical test at the Hospitals of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

 

 

Approximate expenses :

1. Hospital (Medical) fee (One time only)  :  $ 80

2. Resident Permit Fee                          :   $ 50

 

Students should be aware that certain diseases are treated with utmost caution in Northern Cyprus and students who have these illnesses are subject to deportation by the Government.

 

Please make sure that you have taken a medical test on Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Tuberculosis  and HIV in your country before hand in order to avoid any difficulties arising from health issues.

Students who would like to have their residence permit done should apply to Lefke’s Tax Office and Lefke Municipality’s Immigration Office with the below mentioned documents.

Please note that Lefke Municipality Offices winter working hours are between 08:00 – 12:00 and 13:30 – 16:00 during the week.   

Required documents for Academic Year 2008 - 2009 

1 student certificate (obtained from the registrar’s office)

5.60 YTL worth of stamp (one stamp)

Passport and a photocopy of it

Rent contract (except for students staying at the EUL Dorms)

2 photos (only for new students)

56 YTL residence permit fee  (for 1 year)

Newly registered students will need a medical report in order to complete their residence permit.  The amount for this procedure is approximately 80 - 100 YTL.
