A Delegation from Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), which is the sub-organization of Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), paid a visit to EUL in order to make contacts and observations on 13 February 2008.
The delegation which is composed of Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, the Head of the Delegation and the Director General of ISESCO, Ahmed Said Ould Bah, the Secretariat Chair, Hassan Lamarti, the Director of External Relations and Cooperation, and Eren Adataş, the Head of Board of Trustees, Assist. Prof. Dr. Akın Cellatoğlu, Vice Rector responsible for Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Gazi Özhan, and Vice Rector responsible for Academic Affairs got together in the Office of the Rector at 12.30.
During the visit, Abdulaziz Othman Altwari, Director General of ISESCO said that even if they visited the other parts of TRNC, it was Lefke region which attracted them the most. The visit held due to the membership of EUL to Federation of the Universities of Islamic World (FUIW), Cellatoğlu gave some information on the infrastructure projects and the latest developments at EUL. Moreover, Prof. Dr. Gazi Özhan added some more information about the structure of the university, faculties, departments and the number of the students. Altwari presented a book on behalf of his organization and Assist. Prof. Dr. Akın Cellatoğlu gave the delegation a present as well on behalf of EUL. After the lunch, OIC Delegation toured the EUL Campus and conducted observations.
